PRAGUE CENTRE OF MATHEMATICAL GEOPHYSICS, METEOROLOGY, AND THEIR APPLICATIONS
(MAGMA)

Martin Füllekrug

Prague, Sep 15 - 18, 2003

Martin Füllekrug, professor at Institute for Geophysics, University of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, visited MAGMA Centre in the period September 15-18, 2003, on the occasion of 3rd IAGA/ICMA Workshop on Solar Activity Forcing of the Middle Atmosphere at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Czech Acad. Sci. He delivered a lecture entitled "Global remote sensing of the atmospheric electromagnetic environment and its relation to climate change". This visit enriched MAGMA by another aspect of the climate change, viz. the connection with atmospheric electricity. The atmospheric electricity in global electric circuit is very sensitive to changes in temperature and, therefore, it can be a good indicator of the global climate change.
