The Ada Lovelace conference series originated in the late 1980s (then known as the Workshops on Mantle Convection and Lithosphere Dynamics). Since then, the conferences have been held biennially. The Czech Republic has hosted two conferences in this series, in 1993 and 2003. The 2026 meeting will be organised in cooperation between Charles University in Prague and the Czech Geological Survey. The aim of the conference is to bring together experts in modelling convection in the mantles of the Earth and other planets, and in lithosphere dynamics, along with colleagues from neighbouring disciplines, including the rheology of rocks and ice, seismology, and gravity studies. The venue will provide accommodation and meals for all participants to foster interaction between early-career and senior scientists. The workshop will be held at Hotel Jezerka, near Seč Lake in Central Bohemia, from 21 to 26 June 2026.
